Have you checked out Lab TV? Created by the National Defense Education Program, this site supports hands on learning experiences that encourages students to "learn by doing". Best of all, there are short 5 minute videos showing real-life applications of various fields of science.

I've created a worksheet for the episode entitled Eat It Up and will be creating more soon!
